This Year is Going to be Different

This year is going to be different. John bound his thoughts towards making a major change in his career. Instead of becoming a lawyer like his father, his hearts desire wasto take a flight course and learn all he needed about becoming a pilot. He had alwaysbeen interested in law. He and his father would have discussions about it eachnight at the dinner table. But his interest in piloting was much greater than law.

It was February when John presented his decision to his parents. His passion in his words and the seriousness in his face convinced his parents he no longer would be what they wished for him to be. Yet they were pleased at his firmness in decision.

The Frozen Sea within

I had a tough time thinking of someone who resembled me most in a book, but i decided to say Ignorance for "Pilgrims Progress". I know hes not a good guy but some charecter traits in him stuck out at me. He didn't live for God because he realy love him. People can tend to continue their Christian life because its just a custom, and they know its the right thing to do. I realize in myself I can forget what God did for me.

sounds

Well some sounds that I'v paied attention to are the simple ones heard most every day. Have you ever had a moment when something stuck you as funny or interesting?... Well I have had a time when all of a sudden a sound my sister or friend makes, suddenly seems funny or interesing. One thing i listend to was people speaking. Its actually guite amazing how each voice is somehow different! Theres deep, high, squeeky, loud, quiet, and many more sounds that are mixed together making one specific voice. It is very cool how God created so many sounds for people to hear. Songs are specialy made to have multiple different sounds to make harmony, and a rythem. There could be violinists, pianists, drummers, singers, guitarist, and many more things made for making sound.

Wide Awake

When I was around eight years old my mom had a surprise gift for me, hideing in a large closet. Later that evening she brought me to the door if the closet Wondering what the meaning of this was, I opend the door and saw a shiny, eye-popping bicycle! She told me that I had been diligent in my school and she was proud of me. I thanked my mom and then imedieatly took it outside to ride. I remember the wheels making a whizz sound that got louder as I rode faster along the road, and being thrilled at the speed. Also I started to learn how to use no hands which was difficult but once I had it I would proudly show my friends confidently waving my hands in the air as I pedaled along.

Letting GOD in the driver's seat

A couple years ago when I was in maybe 6th grade and homeschooling my mom decided that I should go to this art and english class. When I heard I was going to have to read a paper in front of maby 50 people, I was'nt to thrilled about going. (I'v allways not like standing in front of people)Inside Inside i strangely felt I should go,even though I knew I would'nt like it, I let God take control. I did well with reading my paper(even though it was difficult), because I let God take the wheel. God never lets someone down but he will let you suffer in order to find who you realy are in Chirst. This helped my future because perservering through the speach made the next speach in front of others a lot easier. God has a purpous for everything.

I think a time when I was very selfless was when I went to the mobile home park to pull weeds, plant flowers, and but basicly help restore the community by just giving a hand. We also put up a carnivil and just had fun with these kids who lived there. But I did notice others gave more love by telling them about Christ. Of course a great example is B.J who was so bold to tell the poliece men about Christ. B.J. showed love and selflessness is a whole different way, which is what we as Christians need to stive for.

Relying On God!

I have had times when I did'nt rely on God but thought I could do things myself, but never has it ended devastating. I guess you could consider this example to be a time where I did'nt rely on him fully.

I had a paper that I started to late on. My time after school was consumed by this paper for the next couple days. I would'nt ask for help for anybody, or go to God for guidance or help either. I thought the paper was more important than God at the time. (I was being independant) The results of this ended in having a terribly written paper. I realy could of had the paper completed faster if I had help.

And yes I agree with Dr. Mark McMin's qoute. The Bible is all about relying on God, and to let him control your life, but many people, might not let go of being the leader of their life. Often I will have trouble agreeing with certain parts of the Bible to.
